Johnny has been released on a bail bond of Rs 15,000 and a like amount in surety. Manoj Oklekar who has also been arrested in the case has also moved for bail at the JMFC and has been remanded for four day police custody.
Police sources stated that Manoj and Johnny are members of Javed aka Chopsi’s gang which is active in Margao and the gang consists of the most notorious criminal history-sheeters.
Police sources stated that investigations revealed that Johnny had fired the shots at the complainant Avinash Gunjikar on Monday night. The gun used for the crime has been found at Johnny’s house in Kharebandh Margao and has been attached for evidence by the police. Only two arrests have been made so far in the deathly attack.
It maybe recalled that four accused persons Johnny, Javed, Manoj, Rajesh and Badshah were involved in a shootout on Monday night at Kharebandh Margao. The other three accused persons Javed, Badshah and Rajesh have applied for an anticipatory bail in the case.
The case is being handled by PSI Girendra Naik attached to Margao Town police station.
