MAPUSA: The Additional District & Sessions Court at Mapusa granted anticipatory bail to Suraj Borkar, the election agent of Independent candidate Rohan Khaunte. He has been directed to execute a personal bond of Rs 10,000 with a surety for like sum.
It may be recalled that Head Constable Dattaram Gawandi attached to Mapusa Traffic Cell in his complaint had stated that Borkar had allegedly threatened and attempted to assault him while on duty on the Election Day at Peddem, Mapusa. The bail application was heard on February 8.
