MARGAO: Vikram Kumar, 21, from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, wanted by Cuncolim police for kidnapping, was apprehended late Wednesday night. He had been on the run for four-and-a-half months, absconding with the minor girl he had allegedly abducted from Salcete. The arrest, executed by the Cuncolim police team, in collaboration with Delhi police, occurred in a covert location in the national capital. The victim girl was safely recovered from Delhi and is now with Cuncolim police. Cuncolim PI Tukaram Chavan registered charges against Vikram Kumar on April 1 under IPC Section 363 and Section 8 (2) of the Goa Children Act. He is in police custody and will undergo a medical examination.
According to the complaint, Kumar kidnapped the minor student on March 31, around 8.30 am from her family’s rented room. PSI Kavita Rawat is leading the investigation. The victim girl’s medical examination is scheduled as well.
