PONDA: After receiving two complaints last week regarding issuance of bogus house tax receipts in Kirlapal panchayat, Dharbandora BDO Adarsh Desai issued memo to the panchayat secretary to present a report regarding the same within 7 days.
It may be recalled that the Sanvordem Congress president Jayesh Patil and local Pratap Desai had filed complaints with the BDO demanding a probe into the matter.
Around two weeks ago, the then sarpanch Damodar Bandekar had alleged the scam in the panchayat. He later resigned from his post due to suspected political pressure. Bandekar threatened to lodge an official complaint but Jayesh Patil filed a complaint with the Deputy Director of Panchayats while local Pratap Desai had filed a complaint with the Dharbandora BDO office.
Taking note of both the complaints, BDO Desai issued the notice to panchayat secretary Amol Tendulkar.
“Panchayat secretary Amol Tendulkar had taken some important documents from the panchayat. He has been asked to present a report within seven days. Further action will be taken once the report is received,” said BDO Adarsh Desai.
