PONDA: Kirlapal sarpanch Rukhmini Gaonkar was voted out of office after the no confidence motion was passed by 5 – 4 votes in the nine member panchayat.
A few days back, six panch members had tabled a no trust vote against Gaonkar with the Dharbandora BDO. All nine panchas were present for the meeting which was held on Wednesday.
An official for the BDO, Deu Mainkar along with the panchayat secretary Amol Tendulkar presided over the motion. “The son of the sarpanch who was elected unopposed, was interfering in the panchayat’s business,” alleged panch Ramakant Gaonkar.
