CANACONA: Forty-one-year-old Tridip Kumar, a resident of Kolkata was arrested by Canacona Police with suspected 84 lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) stamps, a psychedelic drug, charas and ganja all worth Rs 4.25 lakh in the wee hours of Saturday at Galgibag beach.
Temporarily staying at Galgibag the accused has been arrested under Sections 22 (C), 20 (b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act, police informed.
Police said based on information they laid a trap to nab Kumar and intercepted him at Galgibag beach.
Kumar was in possession of substances suspected to be LSD, charas and ganja, police said.
“In all, we found 3 pink paper sheets having 84 blots suspected to be LSD, weighing 0.90grams worth Rs 4.20 lakh, a blackish substance wrapped in polythene sheet suspected to be charas, weighing 4.57grams worth Rs 4,500 and dry green leafy, flowery parts of plants having shrubs and seeds suspected to be ganja, weighing 7.74grams worth Rs 800. The seized material was worth Rs 4.25 lakh approximately,” Canacona PI Pravin Gawas disclosed.
