Konkan Railway and RPF Rescue 116 Missing Children, Crackdown on Illegal Alcohol Trade, and Ticket Scalping

Konkan Railway and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) have successfully reunited 116 missing children with their families over the past five years. This achievement was made possible through their partnership with a dedicated NGO under the banner of “Mission Nanhe Mhune Farishte.”

“Over the last five years we have rescued children and handed them over to their parents. In 2019 we rescued 42 children, in 2020 we rescued 11, seven children were rescued in 2021 and in 2022, 36 children were rescued and reunited. From April to August 2023 we recued 20 children,” informed Konkan Railway Deputy Manager, Baban Ghatge

Furthermore, in a significant crackdown on illegal activities within the railway network, authorities have seized a substantial amount of illegal alcohol, totalling 31 lakhs in value, and apprehended 83 individuals involved in the illegal alcohol trade.

Additionally, the railway has confiscated nearly 16 lakhs worth of black-market tickets. Authorities have booked 32 cases related to ticket scalping activities.
