Konkan Railway Police arrest cellphone thief

MARGAO: The Konkan Railway Police apprehended Gopi Murthy, 22, hailing from Dodderi Gangoor, Shimoga in Karnataka, for theft of 11 high-end mobile phones from Verna. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) played a crucial role in catching the accused and handing him over to the Konkan Railway Police. During the interrogation, Gopi Murthy confessed to the theft, leading to the recovery of the stolen mobile phones.

According to DySP Gurudas Kadam  the investigation revealed that Gopi, along with another accomplice, arrived in Margao from Karnataka and stole the mobile phones fromVerna. The next day, they reached the Konkan Railway Station in Margao, where Gopi was caught by the vigilant RPF staff, while the second accomplice managed to escape.
