The service will have an online booking and delivery system, accessible via a website or mobile app

MARGAO: Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) is seeking to introduce rent-a-bike services at seven of its stations on the Konkan Railway route, including five stations in Goa. It has issued a tender inviting an operator to manage this service.

The proposed bike rental services will be available at Margao, Canacona, Karmali, and Tivim in Goa, as well as at Karwar, Gokarna Road and Kumta Railway Station in Karnataka. This initiative will be managed under a single contract covering all seven stations.

The selected bidder will operate the bike rental services within designated areas of 300 square feet at each of the seven railway stations. According to the tender, passengers will be able to rent motorcycles or scooters for a fee.

The operator will have the option to offer additional accessories such as helmets, gloves, and jackets for an extra charge. The service may also include an online booking and delivery system, accessible via a website or mobile app. The tender specifies that only vehicles registered for rental services, indicated by a yellow-on-black license plate, are permitted.
