Konkan Railway’s Intensive Ticket Checking Nets 7,013 Unauthorized Travelers, Collects ₹2.05 Crores in Fines

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has reaffirmed its commitment to
curbing unauthorized travel by conducting rigorous ticket checking drives. In
the month of November 2023 alone, these efforts resulted in the detection of
7,013 cases of unauthorized or irregular travelers without tickets, who were
subsequently penalized.

The fines imposed during this period amounted to a staggering ₹2,05,52,446,
reflecting the severity of the issue and KRCL’s resolve to ensure adherence to
ticketing regulations. These intensified ticket checking drives encompass the
entire span of Konkan Railway’s route.

Konkan Railway authorities have issued an appeal to all passengers, urging
them to travel with valid and proper tickets. KRCL emphasizes the importance of
compliance to avoid inconvenience and penalties. The railway corporation has
announced its commitment to sustaining these rigorous ticket checking efforts
as part of its ongoing measures to ensure a fair and lawful travel environment.
