MARGAO, JAN 26 The 17th Konkani Natak Mahotsov got underway on Monday at the Ravindra Bhavan with the President of the Goa Konkani Akademi asking the government to build a Raj Bhasha Bhavan and a mobile library for the development of Konkani language.

The 17th Konkani Natak Mahotsov got underway on Monday at the Ravindra Bhavan with the President of the Goa Konkani Akademi asking the government to build a Raj Bhasha Bhavan and a mobile library for the development of Konkani language.
The festival is being organized by Goa Konkani Akademi, Konkani Bhasha Mandal and Directorate of Art and Culture.
Goa Konkani Akademi President N Shivdas expressed confidence that the government would concede to the request to set up the Raj Bhasha Bhavan, while thanking Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat for giving financial assistance to the Akademi and the Konkani Bhasha Mandal.
In his address, Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat assured full support to Konkani organizations like the Goa Konkani Akademi and Konkani Bhasha Mandal for doing good work for the cause of Konkani language. He took the occasion to congratulate Dr Anil Kakodkar and writer Amonkar for receiving the Padma awards this year. Fatorda MLA Damu Naik also spoke.
