PANJIM: The Department of Konkani, Fr Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar, in collaboration with Adhyan Peeth Mangalore University organized a one-day national seminar on the topic: ‘Some thoughts on Konkani literature’.
The coordinator of the team from Mangalore Adhyan Peeth Jayawanta Naik said that Goa is a place that Mangalore academicians look up to and these types of interactions should be initiated more often.
In his key note address, Bhushan Bhave spoke elaborately about the historical influence on Konkani language and culture. Dr Prakash Parriekar presented an in-depth research paper on the Konkani novel. Mrs Akalpita Desai, faculty member of Carmel College spoke on modern Konkani poetry.
Earlier, Fr Agnelo College Principal Dr Savio Faleiro welcomed the guests and spoke about the importance of such collaborations across States to enrich Konkani language and culture.
