VALPOI: Timely response by Valpoi fire personnel saved a house being damaged by a tree fall in Kopardem village, on Friday.
On noticing a tree dangerously leaning on a nearby house, a passerby informed the local fire station of the same, who immediately rushed to the spot and meticulously cut off the tree thereby preventing its collapse on the house.
According to the fire personnel, had they not been informed of the leaning tree on time, it would have fallen on the house causing a loss of Rs 1 lakh.
Meanwhile, the Valpoi fire station informed that since the start of rains, it had attended to 20 incidents of tree fall on road, electric poles and houses.
