PERNEM: A special Korgao gram sabha on Tuesday has adopted a resolution to grant permission for laying underground electric cable in the village.
The permission would be granted with a condition that the contractor shall repair the road and restore it to its original condition after completing the underground cabling work.
The special gram sabha was chaired by the newly elected Sarpanch Swati Gawandi. It was attended by all the panch members. A junior engineer attended the meeting to answer questions of villagers on the subject.
At the gram sabha, the villager raised concern over bad condition of the road. They said that the last time when the PWD had carried out work of laying of pipeline in the village, after completing the work, the road was left in pathetic condition for more than a year causing immense hardship to the villagers.
Locals said that that lying of cables should not be permitted if the contractor does not assure to repair the road.
After listening to the grievances of the locals, the gram sabha adopted a resolution to grant permission for underground cabling in the village with a condition that the contractor shall restore the road to its original state after completing the cabling work.
