MARGAO: The Konkan Railway police on Tuesday cracked a whip against touts and agents making brisk business at the Margao railway station.
Taking cognisance of the presence of agents at the ticket counter, the Konkan Railway police verified the forms filled by passengers standing in the queue and found in their possession duly filled forms with passengers’ ID proof.
Konkan Railway PSI Dattaguru Sawant told the media that the three persons Kundalik More, Mohammed Rehman and Malik Ganjur were arrested under section 143 9b) of the Railways Act for unauthorised attempt to procure railway tickets with a view to sell the same to passengers. Cash amounting to Rs 4,600 was seized from their possession.
The trio were later released on a bail bond of Rs 5,000 each with one surety. PSI Sawant said the police would soon chargesheet the accused persons in the court.
