CALANGUTE:The Calangute Police have registered an offence against two persons from Karnataka for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 16-year-old girl who was found dead in a rented room at Calangute on Sunday.
Calangute PI Paresh Naik said Badiyappa Lamani, the father of the deceased girl has lodged a complaint that the two accused, identified as Kotresh Lamani and Manjula Lamani, with their common intention tortured and had threatened to post certain photos of the girl on social media if she failed to leave the relationship with Kotresh Lamani, thereby the accused abetted his daughter to commit suicide by hanging on Sunday.
Calangute police have registered an offence under Section 306 IPC and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act 2003. Further investigations are on.
