PANJIM: Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTC) driver who was driving a bus under the influence of alcohol on November 8, has been suspended.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said, “We have suspended the driver. Henceforth, whoever, whether he is driver of Kadamba bus or someone else, is caught driving under the influence of alcohol, his or her licences would be suspended.”
The Old Goa Police on Thursday booked the bus driver Elvis Rodrigues (49) from Ela Old Goa for allegedly driving the vehicle carrying passengers in a rash and negligent manner, without taking proper care and caution endangering human life.
A case was registered under section 279 of IPC and 185 of Motor Vehicle Act upon the complaint of Head Constable Sayyed Abdulla. The incident occurred at around 7:37 pm near Kadamba Bypass Road, Old Goa.
