KTC has estimated a loss of around Rs 12 crore due to the lockdown, when it did not ply its buses. On the use of KTC buses for interstate service to ply the migrants, the Corporation has expressed its inability to ply to a far-off State.
“There has been a demand to ply the people to their States. We are able to go to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, but to a far-off state would be not feasible due to certain factors,” he said.
On the return of the KTC buses to Goa, Ghate said that they are checked at the border points and buses are sanitized.
