MARGAO: The inspection of the Kadamba Bus stand of Margao carried out earlier this week has shown its impact. Some of the immediate works, which were suggested to KTC on the day of inspection by the NGO GOACAN, have started. It may be recalled that in its Sunday edition dated September 15, 2019, Herald had published a report titled, ‘Better KTC transport needed, but where’s the will?’, which highlighted the neglected Margao KTC bus stand
The KTC officials have since removed the toll fee booth, which was broken. This booth was right on the exit of the bus stand and was an eyesore and hindrance for people as well as buses.
The logs of a tree which were blocking the way of pedestrians on the zebra crossing were cleared by the officials.
Surprisingly, the officials have also displayed at notice on the ticket counter of shuttle service that the complaint book is available.
Roland Martins of GOACAN said, “We need to highlight the good works that the KTC has done. We also need to make people aware that now a complaint book and mail addresses are available to lodge their complaints about further improvements,” he said.
