PANJIM: Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) workers have threatened to go on a strike if government failed to implement seventh pay commission recommendation.

PANJIM: Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) workers have threatened to go on a strike if government failed to implement seventh pay commission recommendation.
Goa government had in past implemented the seventh pay commission for government servants in the state whereas corporations and autonomous bodies have kept aside.
Speaking to reporters union leader Advocate Suhas Naik said that the legal notice has already been served on KTCL whereas the strike can be announced at time after December 31.
He said that recommendation of seventh pay commission had to be implemented to the KTCL staff as per the agreement and there has been tremendous inflation in prices since couple of years.
Naik said that KTC cannot be considered as profit making organization as it is involved in catering to many social responsibilities where the corporation is operating many loss making routes, buses have been even given to schools, relaxation on tickets etc.  He mentioned that despite its social responsibilities the corporation has made Rs 5 crore profit this year.
“We will decide the exact date anytime after December 31 if the demand is not fulfilled by the government,” Naik said.
