PANJIM: The KTC Drivers and Allied Employees Association on Sunday demanded hike in their salaries and to clear arrears of the Seventh Pay Commission.
AITUC general secretary Christopher Fonseca said that though the State government implemented Seventh Pay Commission recommendations to the KTC employees from November 2018, it had not cleared the arrears for 34 months and demanded that the KTC management should sign an agreement with the Union from January 2016.
The employees also demanded better work timing, promotional avenues, bonus and regularisation of badly drivers and daily wage workers.
The association charged that the KTC management was discriminating its workers by engaging a private contractor to run electric buses.
