PANJIM: The Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL) launched its cashless, digital ticketing system in association with mobile payments and e-commerce platform PayTM, at KTC bus stand, here, on Friday.
This was launched by KTCL Chairman Carlos Almeida, who addressed the gathering about how the QR-based mobile ticketing service will benefit the public. The customers will have to download the ‘KTC Site Ticketing App’.
This system will operate through QR codes that will be displayed at various locations across KTC bus stands in the State and on the KTC buses. Commuters can scan the QR codes prior to their journey and make the payment online using the app. An e-ticket generated after payment can be used to board the bus to the destination within one hour.
Almeida also spoke about how KTC aims to roll out a national common mobility card (NCMC) for the benefit of those who do not possess smart phones.
He added that all of this is part of KTCL’s drive towards digital India.
