SANGUEM: A labourer engaged by a timber contractor died on the way to hospital at Sanguem after a huge log fell on him causing serious injuries.
Domingo Fernandes (54), a resident of Patem Balli Cuncolim along with another five labourers, was loading a truck with timber when a log reportedly fell on him causing serious injuries.
Though Fernandes was immediately rushed to Sanguem PHC for treatment, doctors declared him dead before arrival.
Sanguem police rushed to the site and conducted a panchanama. The body of Fernandes has been sent for post mortem report at Hospicio Margao.
