A labourer drowned in a canal at Dhargal on Tuesday. Parameshwar Yadav (age 54), had gone to wash his feet in a canal near the pump house of the Public Works Department, Dhargal.
The deceased Parameshwara was originally from Bihar and was employed by a contractor named Asun Jayant Yadav. The body has been sent to Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim for post-mortem examination. Harish Vaigankar, Sub-Inspector of Pernem Police Station, is conducting further investigation.
