PONDA: A labourer was stabbed to death by another over a petty issue at Usgao on Saturday. Police have taken the accused into custody but are waiting for the post mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death so as to register and offence.
Ponda police stated that the accused Chuman Kumar and the victim Rajan Saha, both natives of Bihar were employed at a mushroom factory at Usgao.
On Saturday night there was an altercation between the two over a frivolous matter and in a fit of rage Chuman allegedly stabbed Rajan.
The victim was immediately taken by his colleagues to the Public Health Centre at Pilem, Usgao Tisk. Since his condition was deteriorating, the victim was taken to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, where he breathed his last on Sunday.
