MARGAO: The demolition of illegal structures of the Hotel Silver Sands, situated at Colva, was deferred due to no funds with the Public Works Department (PWD) to hire the demolition equipment. Taking serious note of the same complainant Judith Almeida has charged the government for failing to comply with the order of the Court, and allowing more destruction to the environment.
The entire machinery including heavy police force with CRZ and electricity department personnel were all set to carry out the demolition as per order of CRZ Authority. PWD did not send the required machinery claiming that they were not paid for hiring the machinery.
