Land acquisition for Cuncolim Bypass to begin soon: PWD

PWD officials confirmed that funds have been sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) for this route.

MARGAO: Against the backdrop of concerns raised by residents about the proposed Cuncolim Bypass, PWD officials have revealed that the alignment route starts from the Uskiniarik culvert in Cuncolim and ends up meeting the National Highway (NH) 66 near the Balli Primary Health Centre (PHC). The official added that land acquisition work for the bypass is expected to begin soon and Rs 298 crore has been allotted. 

PWD officials confirmed that funds have been sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) for this route.  PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral recently announced that the Centre had sanctioned Rs 361 crore for the four-lane highway from Navelim to Cuncolim.
