MAPUSA: Mapusa police booked a doctor — Gordon Paul Noronha and his wife Reshma Bhagwandas Kapadia for dishonestly impersonating as the legal heirs of property bearing Survey No. 110/9, 37, 29, 37/30 of Village Panchayat Marna-Siolim.
The duo with their common intention prepared forged, false documents in favour of them by forging the records and further fraudulently produced the same before the Civil Registrar-cum-Sub Registrar of Bardez, to carry out transaction to transfer the rights of the property.
Mapusa police have booked the duo under Sections 193, 198, 419, 464, 465, 466, 467, 468, 471, 420 R/W 34 IPC. An FIR was registered based on the complaint filed by Glen Henry Noronha, who is the grandson of the original owner and one of the legal heirs of the property.
According to the complainant, Glen Henry Noronha, the mastermind Dr Gordon Paul Noronha, who claims to be employed by the WHO (the World Health Organisation) and his wife Reshma Bhagwandas Kapadia, in one of the affidavit produced before the court stated, that his father late George Sebastiao Noronha is the son Antonio Casmiro Noronha and hence he is the sole heir of Antonio Casmiro and Isabel Noronha.
They further stated in the affidavit that George Noronha was born on April 25, 1934, in Mumbai and showed that the parents were Antonio Casmiro Noronha and Isabel Noronha. He has also provided a forged marriage certificate from the Our Lady of Dolores Church in Dabul, showing his father’s parents to be the said Antonio Casmiro Noronha and Isabel Noronha, all this to show he was a descendent of the two since the property under Survey No. 37/30 in Marna-Siolim, was in the name of Isabel Noronha.
In another affidavit submitted to the court for the property bearing Survey No 37/29, in order to establish his rights, showed that his father late George Sebastiao Noronha, is the son of Antonio Romauldo Noronha and Rita Maria Noronha, since the property was on a different name to establish rights on the same. While doing this, the accused showed his father is the son of two different parents.
However, in reality, George Noronha, who is the father of Gordon Noronha was born on April 25, 1923, in Siolim, which is almost 10 years before as it is mentioned in the false affidavit and on his actual marriage certificate his parents are Antonio Romauldo and Rita Maria Noronha. However, he defrauded the court and the government machinery to get the property transferred in his name.
