PANJIM: Ronald Pinto of Panjim has complained to the State Investigation Team (SIT) about a serious issue of land grabbing by a couple from Khorlim, Bardez and selling it to a third party.
In a letter to SP (Crime Branch), who is also SIT incharge, Pinto said that he was holding power of attorney of Ajay Srivastava from Gurgaon and having his property admeasuring 2487 square meters which is a part of survey no 94/2 of Assagao village at Bardez.
Though partition/sub-division of the property was yet to be done, Srivastava purchased it in the year 2005 by executing a Sale Deed and he and his family used to stay in the property whenever they were in Goa for over 15 years.
On March 2022, Srivastava learnt that one part of the land which is located on North Western side in survey no 94/2 which was originally gifted to Constancio Manuel Fernandes and subsequently after his death, as a bachelor property was bequeathed to Diogo Babino Fernandes by a Public Will dated 3-3-1967 and after death of Diogo Babino Fernandes, the land was distributed to seven children (legal heirs) through Inventory Proceedings concluded in 2005 bearing no 210/96/C by the Civil Judge Senior Division Court at Mapusa. The land was now fraudulently taken over by a couple from Mapusa by misrepresenting facts to the Court in Inventory Proceedings before the Court of the Civil Judge, Junior Division at Mapusa which was concluded on January 25, 2018.
Now after coming to know that Goa government has constituted a SlT to investigate such crimes in land grab by using fraudulent documentations for land transfer and related frauds pertaining to such crimes, Pinto said that Srivastava has authorised him to file a complaint to the SIT about this issue of the land located on North Western side of survey no 94/2 in Assagao village and further to assist the SIT in providing all related information and documentation to revel the factual position.
Pinto has also attached copies of the documents, which will reveal the facts, and assist the SIT to expose the entire modus operandi which may further assist to get to the main mastermind, who must have possibly used the couple to indulge into such illegal act.
