Sanguem: The atmosphere in the Sanguem town area remained tense on Wednesday morning after the Deputy Collector Ajay Gaude had called the alleged land owner who had blocked the ore transportation activity from Tolem mines to produce ownership documents of the said property.
As the hearing started at around 10 am, a large number of truck owners appeared outside the Dy Collector’s office eagerly awaiting for the outcome in the matter.
Gaude opined that the trench, which the alleged land owner has dug, is passing through government property. Gaude however did not pass the order immediately in the matter and made attempts to persuade the alleged land owner to come to terms and permit the transportation of the e-auctioned ore.
Sources informed that the DyCollector finally managed to convince the land owner and informed that the transportation activity will commence from Thursday December 24 as the land owner has also reportedly agreed to permit the company to fill the trench.
The truck owners who have been waiting for a week for this issue to get sorted, heaved a sigh of relief and thanked the authorities for settling the issue.
President of Sanguem Truck Owners Association Sanjay Raikar said that they only wanted the transport activity to commence and are not interested as to who is allotted the transport contract.
