Land measuring 7,441 sq mtr ‘corrected’ from settlement to institutional zone in RP 2021

PANJIM: The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department has ‘corrected’ an area of 7,441 square metres at Bandora from settlement zone to institutional zone.

In the Regional Plan Goa-2021, the zone of the plot of land surveyed under survey number 44, sub-division number 1-B admeasuring an area of 325 square metres of Bandora village, Ponda and part of plot of land under survey number 44, sub-division number 1-A admeasuring an area of 7,116 square metres of Bandora, Ponda, which were earmarked as settlement zone have been corrected as institutional zone by issuing a notification to this effect.

Meanwhile, two public interest litigation (PIL) writ petitions filed by NGO Goa Foundation and two others and another by three public-spirited Goans, seeking to quash and set aside Section 17 (2) of the Goa Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act will be heard by the High Court of Bombay at Goa for two consecutive days on October 30 and 31.

Most of the changes or corrections have been permitted by the TCP as per the Section 17 (2) of TCP Act, where private individuals are allowed to file applications to seek correction of such allegedly wrong zoning of their plots in Regional Plan 2021.
