Land owner discovers 100-year-old tunnel at Bicholim

Villagers have demanded that the Archaeological Department trace the history behind the channel.

BICHOLIM: A tunnel was discovered accidentally at Dhabdaba, Bicholim and locals say that it could be a historical cave also. 

Locals say the entrance of the tunnel was hidden in the thick bushes and when the land owner tried to clear the thicket, he stumbled into it.

The tunnel is about 100-metre from the main road at Dhabdaba. Environmentalist, Rajendra Kerkar has stated that it could be a tunnel which was dug for finding iron ore and could be over 100-year-old.

The locals managed to get into the tunnel and the video went viral on social media. Villagers have demanded that the Archaeological Department trace the history behind the channel.
