Land owner told to produce documents today

SANGUEM: With the row over blockage of road for the transportation of e-auctioned ore from Tolem Mines still remaining unsolved, the State government officials have reportedly given the land owner who has blocked the road time till 10 am on Wednesday to produce his documents, failing which the road will be opened with full protection, said President of Sanguem Truck Owners Association Sanjay Parwar.

It is pertinent to note that the since last week, all efforts to transport to the e-auctioned ore from the mines at Tolem, Sanguem is on hold after a land owner allegedly with due political support dug a trench across the road through which the ore was to be transported. Ever since efforts were made by the transport contractor to get the land owner to terms and get the issue resolved but to no avail.

Couple of days back, the contractor even made attempts to cover the trench with rubble. However, the land owner who claims proprietary rights to the property through which the road passes stood on guard along with his supporters and stopped the move by the contractor to cover the trench with rubble to facilitate the transportation activity.

With the land owner in no mood to listen, Deputy Collector Sanguem reportedly issued a notice to the land owner to appear before him with the property documents on Tuesday evening to verify his claim.

“The land owner, however, urged the Deputy Collector for a day’s time which the former granted. The land owner is now directed to produce the documents on Wednesday morning by 10 am failing which the road will be forced open allegedly with due police protection,” said Sanjay Parwar.
