Land Use Map of Margao, Ponda ODP area released

MARGAO: The SGPDA Chairman, TCP Minister and Member Secretary have released the Land Use Map and register of Margao and Ponda ODP area. 
The Land Use Plans which is a mandatory provision in the TCP rules has been done for first time for any ODP’s of Goa. 
The plans and the guide register of the plan of SGPDA areas will be thrown open for objections and suggestions after notifying them in the next SGPDA meet. 
A press conference in this regard was addressed by the TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai, Chairman of SGPDA Renuka Da’Silva, Member Secretary Ashok Kumar and Ashok D’costa of Turbosketch. 
The TCP Minister said it is mandatory for any PDA to have land use plans before six months of their authority appointment and also for the ODP formation. 
“We always have had a stand that the due process has to be followed while making ODP’s. We have maintained complete transparency and are on time. The subsequent ODP Margao and Ponda will be a complete inclusive planning,” he said, adding that with the growing urbanisation a horizon period of 10 years has been kept so that plan can be done on how Margao, Ponda and Fatorda ODP areas will fare in the future.
The Land Use Plan will be kept for one month public suggestions at MMC and Ponda municipality. We will see to it that the local representatives are taken in consideration, he said.
Vijai also announced that after the appeal period of one month of the land use plans, the ODP of Margao will be prepared within six to nine months. The SGPDA will erect four kiosks for the public viewing.
