PONDA: Following a news report by O Heraldo, authorities have taken action to clear some of the most dangerous portions of Connem Hill at the landslide site in Connem, Farmagudi, bringing relief to worried commuters.
The landslide, which occurred on July 7 due to heavy rain, had caused significant traffic jams and forced authorities to divert traffic. Commuters were particularly concerned about the large boulders left exposed at the top of the hill, which posed a serious threat of dislodging and rolling down, onto traffic.
For over a month, these boulders remained in a precarious condition, causing anxiety among those traveling through the area. On August 6, O Heraldo highlighted the risk of another potential landslide along with the boulders, urging immediate action.
Responding to these concerns, the authorities finally intervened, clearing some of the hazardous sections of the hill on Friday morning. This has provided much-needed relief to commuters, who can now travel the route with greater peace of mind.
