PONDA: Rains hit normal life in Ponda as incidents of uprooted trees, flooded roads, choked gutters and inundated fields were reported.
The Ponda bus-stand resembled a pond. Fire personnel were on their toes as a landslide at Konnem Priol disrupted traffic for two hours.
It is suspected that the heavy rainfall received in the morning caused the boulders and soil along the hillside to loosen.
Subsequently, earth-movers were deployed to the spot to clear the debris.
