MARGAO: The Infotech Corporation Goa in association with the Education Department distributed laptops to the students of higher secondary schools in Salcete on Thursday.
TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai, Ravindra Bhavan Chairman Prashant Naik, Deputy Director of Education Ramkrishna Samant, Assistant Manager of Infotech Corporation Sudesh Borges and thousands of students of Salcete schools were present for the function. The laptops were distributed by the TCP minister.
“The youth and children of today are the future of this country and we feel that equipping them with tools like a computer is the idea of government to modernism. However, a computer can be used or misused by the students,” Vijai said.
Mentioning the use and misuse of the computers, Vijai said, “The computers are being used to reveal more negative and pessimist agendas rather than looking at the future and being positive. Goa is a progressive and liberal state and the youth has to take it on them to enterprise and serve the State and the country.” He also expressed his desire to make youth in Goan optimist.
“So many lobbies from within the State and country are all out to bring Goa down. But it is the youth that needs to stand up and shift the focus from negative to positive of Goa,” he added.
On the occasion, Borges urged the students to use the laptops for the betterment of the education and future and that is the idea behind giving the laptops.
