SAL: Expressing their displeasure over the absence of most Latambarcem panch members at village development committee (VDC) meeting, the villagers called for intimating Bicholim BDO officials about the latest development.
The locals claimed that besides sarpanch Padmakar Mallik and secretary Ramdas Valvaikar none of the panch members were present for the meeting. The meeting which was presided by sarpanch Mallik was recently held to draw a draft of village development for 2024-25.
Panchayat secretary Valvaikar read out the resolutions tabled during the last meeting but many works are pending as there has been no follow-up with the land owners. Some of the works include digging a well, gutters among others.
A resolution was tabled to complete the road leading towards the cemetery at Nandoda on priority while also making water and electricity facilities available. Villagers brought forth their other problems but since there were no panch members to give their opinions, these issues will now be presented during the committee’s next meeting.
