…launches scathing attack against BJP leaders’ critics

PANJIM: BJP leaders including Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant launched a scathing attack against their critics and other political parties in the fray while addressing the public at a government function in Mormugao.

Sawant directed his ire against former PWD Minister and MGP MLA Sudin Dhavalikar for trying to claim credit over the free water scheme that the State government had announced.

“Sudin said he was the first to move the file (for the scheme. I told him that under his tenure (as PWD minister) people were not getting water, forget about giving water for free,” said Sawant.

“The reason why he (Sudin) was removed from our government was because he was selfish. The 10 MLAs who left their party (Congress) and joined BJP need to be congratulated as because of them we have a stable government in Goa,” said Sawant, while adding that the government has done better once Sudin and other ministers were dropped.

The CM also questioned the claims made by former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and demanded that the then Congress CM show one scheme he had started.

Sawant claimed that all the schemes were started by the then governments of former Chief Minister (late) Manohar Parrikar or his government now and also praised the support to Goa by the Central government led by Narendra Modi.

He added that under his tenure, Goa is slowly becoming self reliant and has already started exporting essential commodities like vegetables to other States.
