Lavoo hits out at BJP

PANJIM: In what could put a question mark over BJP’s move to retain the alliance with MGP for the 2017 polls, Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar has severely criticised the saffron brigade for its step-motherly treatment to MLAs of the alliance partners.
In an exclusive interview to Herald, Mamledar recalled several issues to show that all is not well with the alliance.
“The BJP wanted an alliance prior to the 2012 elections but as soon as the results were declared and the party got 21 seats their attitude changed completely and became very arrogant,” Mamledar said.
Citing examples of BJPs arrogance, Mamledar said, “Even though Sudin was given the PWD portfolio, major works are being carried out through GSIDC by sidelining him. Besides Dipak was given portfolios which are irrelevant.”
He added, “I was promised a better corporation but instead was given one which was unwanted by any BJP MLA.”
Mamledar said his party wants an alliance with the BJP but only if the latter changes its attitude towards its alliance partner.
“There is one year for elections and we will see how they treat the MGP legislators,” he said adding his party will not take any decision in a hurry.
