Law & order machinery supporting criminal activities in State: AAP

PANJIM: Inaction by Anjuna Police into the alleged drug party at Arpora has brought the Goa Police under the radar of Aam Admi Party (AAP) claiming law and order machinery is supporting criminal activities in the State.

The allegation comes at a time when Goa Forward Party (GFP) is demanding immediate suspension of Anjuna Police inspector for failing to clamp down on the night party.

At a press conference on Saturday, AAP State Secretary Pradeep Padgaonkar lashed out at the BJP government for its inaction in alleged Arpora drug party case stating that such major criminal activity cannot survive without the tacit support of the entire law and order machinery.

Pointing out that party attendees involved in the Arpora case were all very young, including many teenagers, AAP Youth leader Nikhil Haldankar demanded strict action in the case.

Highlighting the recent spate of crimes involving youngsters, Haldankar expressed concern about the youth falling prey to such vices while blaming the government for failing completely to provide jobs or engage the youth productively.

The party has also accused the government of “buying” Congress leaders but leaving Goans to die and ignoring the frontline COVID-19 warriors.

The week saw entry of Ritesh and Roy Naik, former Congress leaders, into the BJP. Sons of sitting Congress MLA Ravi Naik, Roy faces allegation of being involved in alleged drug trade but BJP’s U-turn on the issue has irked its opposition.
