leakage causes low water pressure in Fatorda
HERALD REPORTER
MARGAO, MARCH 27
Residents of Fatorda experienced low water pressure for the last one week, not because of any water supply restrictions, but due to a water leakage in the underground line.
Baffled over the low water pressure in the last seven days, PWD officials opened the underground sewage chambers right from Arlem to Fatorda to find out whether the phenomenon was linked to the sewage line running parallel to the water line.
It was near the stadium that the PWD workers found to their utter surprise that a water pipeline had developed a leakage which affected the water pressure. Even as PWD officials were at work to plug the leakage, officials in the know say the leakage might have been developed last year when the line was dug up to lay cable lines.
Incidentally, the same area had witnessed water gushing into a drinking water well after labourers engaged in digging work to lay cables damaged a underground sewage chamber.
