Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi reached his ancestral village Jathedi in Haryana’s Sonipat district on Sunday after being granted temporary parole to attend the naming ceremony of his twin daughters.
Kala Jathedi was allowed to leave custody for a limited period to participate in religious ceremonies following the birth of his daughters through IVF. He arrived at his village amid heavy security, with police personnel deployed around his residence and at key points in the area.
As he reached Jathedi village in the Rai area, local residents welcomed him with drumbeats. His family home had been decorated with flowers for the ceremony, which was attended by relatives and close family members.
The naming ceremony included traditional rituals conducted at the house. His wife, Anuradha, gave birth to the twin girls around three months ago. The court granted him temporary parole so he could be present for the religious ceremonies associated with their birth and naming.
Reports initially stated that the parole was for six hours, from 11 am to 5 pm, while an ANI report cited a seven-hour custody parole granted by the Dwarka Court. The permission was subject to security arrangements and restrictions.
Kala Jathedi’s arrival prompted a major security deployment in and around the village. Police personnel were positioned at various locations, while access to the area was restricted. Media coverage of the ceremony was also limited, with journalists reportedly barred from entering the area.
The heightened security was linked to the criminal cases pending against Kala Jathedi. Authorities maintained a close watch during his brief visit to his ancestral home.
Despite the restrictions, the religious ceremony proceeded with family members and close relatives in attendance. The temporary parole allowed Kala Jathedi to spend a short period with his family and participate in the traditional rituals for his daughters.
After completing the permitted ceremonies, he was expected to return to custody in accordance with the court’s parole conditions.
The brief visit drew attention because of the extensive security arrangements surrounding what was otherwise a private family ceremony. The presence of police personnel and restrictions on access effectively turned parts of Jathedi village into a security zone during his stay.
