PANJIM: Newly appointed State Chief Information Commissioner will be sworn in October 24, at 11 am.
The swearing in will take place at 11 am at Raj Bhavan with Governor B V Wanchoo administering oath of office to the appointee, according to an official communiqué informed.
The High Court recently dismissed a petition challenging the appointment of Leena Mehandale, which was filed on grounds that that there were irregularities in the process of appointments. A Division Bench of the High Court said it found no merit in the contentions of the petitioner Aires Rodrigues who sought striking down of the appointment.
Rodrigues has now vowed to appeal in the Supreme Court.
