PANJIM: Reiterating his demand that dhirio should be legalised in Goa, NCP MLA Churchill Alemao has proposed a bill which is similar to the bill in Tamil Nadu that legally permits Jallikattu.
While the bill has been deferred to the next Assembly session due to time constraints, Alemao said the bill is needed to preserve the ‘cultural tradition of Goans and Goa’.
When media persons said bullfighting sport is a form of cruelty to animals, Alemao asked, “Where is the cruelty?”
“Throughout my political career, I have been fully supporting bullfighting in Goa”, he said.
