Leopard rescued from well at Sanguem

BICHOLIM: Keri Sattari forest official, on Saturday, rescued a leopard from a well at Kudnem, Sanquelim.

According to available information the incident occurred on Friday night when a leopard came to attack a calf belonging to one Premanand Rane from Kudnem in Sanquelim. 

In the attempt the leopard injured the calf but probably the cow, who was nearby, came to the calf’s rescue. The leopard while running away fell in the well.

The injured calf was later treated by the veterinary doctor. 

After receiving the information, a team of Keri forest officials went to the site and rescued the leopard. Later the leopard was released in the Keri forest.
