Less computers, no net connectivity in Curchorem schools

CURCHOREM: In Curchorem-Cacora Municipal area the computers are insufficient and in many of them students do not even get an opportunity to sit and work on a computer as they have only around seven computers for a class of 40 students.

Headmaster of one school at Curchorem said the lone Internet connection given to the ICT Lab does not function most of the time and hence the school has now obtained a private connection through its own funds.

Similar is the case with another school in this city where the management has got their own connection and as the government has not even provided computers, this school purchased some using PTA funds.

In fact the common demand from the schools in Curchorem is new computers as the ones they are using are old and need to be replaced urgently.

At a parochial school in a neighbouring village, the internet connection was provided by soime Nupoor Agency, but the same is not working for many years now.

“A representative of the agency visits the school every uear to check the problem for the last three years, but has till now not identified the problem,” disclosed the headmistress of this school.
