MARGAO: The South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) on Tuesday resolved to expedite the tendering process for appointing contractor for levy collection and maintenance of wholesale fish market at Madel, here, upon the directions of High Court, as the ordinary meeting of the SGPDA was held.
However, the incorporating of suggestions and objections in the new Outline Development Plan (ODP) of Margao seems to be not completed before the upcoming Assembly elections.
Nuvem MLA and Chairman of SGPDA Wilfred D’Sa chaired the meeting which was attended by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, besides other members of the board.
The meeting deliberated on the various issues including the tendering process of appointing contractor for levy collection of wholesale fish market.
Speaking to media persons, Wilfred said, “Upon the directions of the High Court we will expedite the process of tendering. However, the PDA will manage themselves if it fails to go well with the tendering process,” he stated.
“The ODP will be open for suggestions and objections if any from November to December,” he said.
“The tender will be issued with regard to development of SGPDA commercial plot with joint venture system at Margao.”
“We have taken the decision to develop the plot,” he mentioned. The meeting also resolved the issues of installation of CCTVs, bio-matrix and purchase of computer accessories for the PDA office.
