PANJIM: In a bid to create awareness amongst students on the importance of Liberation Day, the youth wing of Goa Forward Party (GFP) has decided to host a competition on December 19.
“We have approached around 350 schools across Goa to participate in the All Goa Elocution Competition on December 19 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao,” Youth Forward Committee president Raj Malik said on Monday. The committee has chosen the topic ‘Operation Vijay’ and how it helped to take the people of Goa and its culture forward.
The contest is divided into categories for the students from Class V to Class VII and Class VIII to Class X. “The first three winners will be awarded Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,500 along with a certificate. Two consolation prizes will also be awarded,” Malik said.
