ARPORA: The Arpora-Nagoa panchayat on Thursday passed a resolution to revoke the licence of the foot spa and discotheque operating at Sankhwadi.
During the meeting other development works for the village were also discussed.
The meeting observed that the villagers have been suffering due to the operation of these establishments and hence the panchayat decided to revoke their licences after the recent incident in which profusely bleeding domestic tourists were spotted running for their life after visiting a foot spa.
Sankhwadi Panch Vidhyadhar Divkar informed that the licences of both these establishments have been revoked during the panchayat meeting.
“Tourism is our bread and butter and yet recently tourists were duped of money and also beaten up. We will always work for the people and not allow illegal activities in the village. Henceforth, we will not give any more licences to such establishments in the locality,” Divkar said.
